Tech Mahindra has partnered with Mastercard to integrate virtual card and payment capabilities into enterprise resource planning (ERP) and procurement platforms, aiming to automate business-to-business (B2B) payments and reconciliation.

The partnership will combine Tech Mahindra’s enterprise technology services with Mastercard’s payment capabilities. The companies plan to integrate payments into existing procurement, finance, and supplier management workflows, letting businesses manage transactions within their current software environments.

The planned integration will use application programming interfaces (APIs), payment automation, real-time reconciliation, and fraud-management tools. The companies also intend to add controls for corporate spending and simplify supplier onboarding. They did not name the ERP or procurement platforms involved or disclose customer deployments.

Tech Mahindra has also partnered with SpaceXSI to bring AI into software engineering, focusing on application modernisation and developer productivity.

“Enterprises should not have to choose between modern payment capabilities and the technology investments they already rely on,” said Roshan Shetty, BFSI and Public Sector Head, Americas, at Tech Mahindra.

Shetty said the partnership would also enable enterprises to use agentic AI workflows as they modernise procurement and finance systems. The announcement did not specify which tasks AI agents would perform or whether they could initiate or execute payments autonomously.

Rebecca Meeker, SVP of B2B Platforms and Embedded Finance at Mastercard, said embedding payments into enterprise platforms could make commercial payments part of existing procurement and finance workflows.

The companies expect the integration to reduce manual work across accounts payable, treasury, procurement and supplier management. They also expect it to improve financial visibility and control, though they did not quantify the expected benefits or disclose an implementation timeline.
