US-based AI humanoid robotics startup Apptronik announced a $520 million Series A extension round in Austin, Texas. The round brings its Series A total to more than $935 million.
Investors, including B Capital, Google, Mercedes-Benz, PEAK6, AT&T Ventures, John Deere, and QIA, participated in the round.
With the fresh capital, the company will scale production and deployments of its Apollo humanoid robot. It will expand training facilities and data collection for retail, manufacturing and logistics customers. The extension follows a $415 million Series A funding round in 2025.
CEO Jeff Cardenas said the funding supports robots designed to work alongside people. “Today’s investment is a strong vote of confidence in our mission,” Cardenas said.
He added, “We’re poised to unveil the newest version of Apollo and maximise the impact of embodied AI across industries. Together with partners, we’re transforming workflows, reimagining factory floors, and writing a new chapter for next-generation humanoid robots that are designed and built to drive meaningful societal progress.”
Apptronik has previously announced partnerships with Mercedes-Benz, GXO Logistics, Jabil, and Google DeepMind on Gemini Robotics. The partnership with Jabil (announced in February last year) leveraged Apollo robots on the production lines that create them, marking progress towards robots constructing robots. The company had announced this in a post on X, saying it is “paving the way for Apollo to build Apollo.”
The company commented that the Apollo humanoid will support logistics and manufacturing before expanding into retail and healthcare. The robot will handle transport, sorting and kitting tasks alongside human workers.
Apptronik was founded at the University of Texas at Austin and currently employs nearly 300 people.
