Venture capital firm ValleyNXT Ventures has launched Bharat Breakthrough Fund–I, a SEBI-registered Category I venture capital fund. The company is targeting a base corpus of ₹200 crore along with a greenshoe option of ₹200 crore.
The fund will invest in seed to pre-Series A startups through a ‘VC + accelerator’ model primarily focused on deep tech and tech-first startups. Beyond investments, the firm will enable startups with mentorship opportunities and business contacts.
Nikhil Agarwal, Founder and Advisor at ValleyNXT Ventures, said in a statement, “Venture capital is most concentrated at the seed and pre-Series A stage, when companies are still highly shapeable, ownership is accessible, and structured guidance can significantly compound outcomes.” The fund aims to address this gap by backing early-stage startups.
Bharat Breakthrough Fund-I will support innovation across sectors, including space, defence tech, robotics, AI/ML, cybersecurity, biotech, sustainability, and consumer innovation.
The fund will be led by Dr Madhu Vasepalli (Founder and Managing Partner), Anand Saklecha (Founder, Head of Investment Committee), and Suresh Goyal (Partner - Fund Management), along with Agarwal.
ValleyNXT Ventures has supported multiple early-stage startups through its angel network and accelerator-driven investment approach, the company stated. The VC firm has evaluated over 5,000 deals and invested in 10+ ventures.
With the launch of this fund, the company aims to build long-term venture value creation in India, especially for early-stage startups.
