Telecom operator Vodafone Idea (Vi) has partnered with edtech platform PhysicsWallah to introduce a new prepaid offering aimed at students preparing for board and competitive examinations.
Called Vi Edu+, the service combines unlimited mobile connectivity with access to PhysicsWallah’s educational platform ‘Pi’, allowing students to access study material, lectures, practice tests and AI-powered learning tools through bundled recharge plans.
The offering has been launched initially in Rajasthan and Eastern Uttar Pradesh circles, with plans for phased expansion to other regions.
Under the partnership, students purchasing the Vi Edu+ prepaid packs will receive unlimited 4G/5G data, voice calls, daily SMS benefits and a 28-day subscription to PW Pi Pro. The recharge pack is priced at ₹375 in Rajasthan and ₹409 in UP East.
The companies said the initiative is designed to make structured digital learning more affordable and accessible, particularly for students who may not have easy access to coaching centres or premium online subscriptions.
PhysicsWallah’s Pi platform includes more than 30,000 video lectures, handwritten notes, revision series, practice tests and AI-powered doubt-solving tools. The content spans kindergarten to Class 12, along with preparation for examinations such as JEE, NEET, UPSC, CUET, GATE, Olympiads and defence entrance tests.
The platform also offers courses in technology, finance, design, marketing, and generative AI, reflecting the increasing demand for skill-based online learning among students and young professionals.
Commenting on the partnership, Avneesh Khosla, Chief Marketing Officer at Vi, said, “The company is looking to move beyond connectivity and integrate education into its core offerings.”
He added that the partnership with PhysicsWallah will allow them to deliver credible and structured educational content to a wider audience, especially those who aspire to learn and grow but are constrained by affordability or access.
Prateek Maheshwari, Co-founder of PhysicsWallah, said, “The collaboration aims to simplify digital learning by combining educational resources with everyday mobile usage.”
The collaboration also reflects the growing convergence of telecom and edtech sectors as companies look to tap into India’s expanding digital learning market, particularly in smaller cities and emerging education hubs.
