Amazon India Launches Machine Learning Summer School

Amazon India has announced the launch of its Machine Learning Summer School, an integrated learning programme to make students industry ready

The programme is open to engineering students in their pre-final and final year Bachelors, Masters, or PhD studies. The ML Summer School curriculum will cover fundamentals of machine learning, linking them to practical industry applications through a three-day course. Students will get to learn about Deep Learning and Probabilistic Graphical Models to solve e-commerce industry-specific business problems– demand forecasting, catalogue quality, product recommendations, search ranking and online advertising.

Rajeev Rastogi, VP of India Machine Learning at Amazon said, “With the pace of advancements in ML, we are proactively helping students to learn about the latest trends in the field of ML and apply them to solve real-world problems. Our aim is to prepare students for science roles – this will help to reduce the gap between the growing demand for ML roles across companies and the talent pool with applied ML skills.”

Amazon India will shortlist students from partner universities through online assessment. The candidates will get access to virtual tutorials, and Amazon Research Days (ARD) conference to learn about technology trends from ML leaders across the world.

Amazon India has collaborated with IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IISc, IIT BHU, IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Bangalore, Indraprastha Institute of Technology in Delhi, BITS, IIT Hyderabad, ISM Dhanbad, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati, NIT Tiruchirappalli, NIT Surathkal, NIT Warangal, Anna University and Delhi Technological University.
