Infosys has announced the launch of an Infosys Cobalt offering — applied AI cloud, to democratise artificial intelligence within its workforce and expand its ability to power AI-driven transformation for enterprises. Built on NVIDIA DGX A100 systems, the applied AI cloud will be offering massive compute density, performance, and flexibility.

According to the official release, Infosys’ applied AI cloud will be an AI centre of excellence, allowing developers and project teams of the organisation to access AI hardware and software stacks across private and public clouds. This will enable them to build contextualised services that deliver AI-first business processes for enterprises.

NVIDIA DGX A100 systems will provide the infrastructure and the advanced computing power required to run machine learning and deep learning operations for the applied AI cloud. With NVIDIA’s Multi-Instance GPU technology, Infosys will improve infrastructure efficiency and maximise utilisation of each DGX A100 system.

Balakrishna DR, the Senior VP, Head – AI & Automation Services at Infosys believes cloud, analytics and artificial intelligence have now been coming together to bring the opportunity for enterprises to reimagine their processes and capabilities and to drive customer experience. “Infosys applied AI cloud can help enterprises to quickly build on the opportunity, while scaling with new technological advancements,” said Balakrishna in the official release.

The partnership with NVIDIA will also enable Infosys to build NVIDIA DGX A100-powered, on-prem AI clouds for enterprises. This, in turn, will provide them access to cognitive services, AI software-as-a-service, pre-built AI platforms, solutions, and edge capabilities.

Further, the official release stated that Infosys would enable businesses to harness their own data to build and train their AI models, future-proofing their AI-powered transformation.

When asked NVIDIA about this partnership, Charlie Boyle, the Vice President and General Manager of DGX Systems stated that, while businesses are looking to integrate AI, they usually lack the strategic platform to scale the computing resources needed to build mission-critical AI applications.

Working with Infosys, NVIDIA helps organisations build their own AI centres of excellence, powered by NVIDIA DGX A100 and NVIDIA DGX POD infrastructure to speed the ROI of AI investments, concluded Boyle.
