Over the past two years, Coforge Limited has sharpened its focus on scaling healthcare as a distinct growth vertical, and early indicators suggest the strategy is beginning to show results.

FY25 marked what the company described as a “landmark year”. Consolidated revenue rose 33.8% year-on-year to ₹12,050.7 crore, with constant currency growth of 32%.

While the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) and the travel, transportation and hospitality (TTH) industries remain core contributors, healthcare is part of a faster-growing cluster of businesses Coforge has been deliberately expanding.

Healthcare is reported under the ‘other businesses’ segment, alongside hi-tech and retail. This segment grew 70.7% year-on-year in FY25 and accounted for 26% of overall revenues, reflecting meaningful diversification beyond Coforge’s traditional strongholds.

Cigniti Integration Strengthens Vertical Play

A key development in Coforge’s vertical expansion has been the acquisition and integration of Cigniti, an AI and IP-led digital assurance and engineering services company.

In its annual disclosures, Coforge said, “The Cigniti acquisition has enabled us to gain significant momentum in the strategy to build scaled-up verticals, namely, retail, hi-tech, and healthcare.”

It added that integration with Cigniti enhances its capabilities in platform modernisation, cloud-native transformation, hyper-automation, and AI-led product engineering across key sectors like BFSI, healthcare, retail, and hi-tech.

Cigniti’s proprietary platforms, such as BlueSwan, Zastra, and iNSta—enhanced with GenAI—further accelerate and assure digital transformation through intelligent observability, adaptive testing, and risk-based validation.

The acquisition has materially strengthened Coforge’s quality engineering, testing and platform modernisation capabilities, areas particularly relevant for regulated industries such as healthcare, where compliance, data integrity and operational resilience are critical.

Coforge declined to comment on detailed queries from AIM regarding the number, size and tenure of healthcare deals signed since it began scaling the vertical, the share of AI-led operating model transformation engagements, specific capability gaps addressed through Cigniti, and whether recent healthcare wins can be directly attributed to either Cigniti or its partnership with Innovaccer.

Public Healthcare and UK Momentum

Coforge’s healthcare focus is also evident in public sector engagements outside India.

During FY25, the company secured a multi-year deal for an integrated contact centre and CRM solution for a leading health service provider supporting urgent patient care. It also won contracts related to record management enhancement and is participating in a 60-year British healthcare modernisation project, according to company disclosures.

In another engagement, Coforge partnered with a prominent UK public healthcare department to upgrade its customer CRM from SugarCRM to Pega and migrate its SAP HANA BW instance to a Microsoft Azure Data Warehouse. The company said it aims to improve productivity by 40%, supported by in-house utilities for Data Lake implementation.

Innovaccer Partnership and AI push

On January 26, Coforge announced a partnership with Innovaccer, a healthcare AI company, to improve care delivery and patient outcomes. The two firms launched G-Forge, a joint initiative designed to help healthcare organisations scale AI, integrate siloed data and improve enterprise decision-making.

The company also revealed it is investing in verticalised AI capabilities. It has developed specialised AI models for enterprise use cases and is collaborating with NVIDIA and HPE to co-develop industry-specific models using the NVIDIA NeMo Framework and HuggingFace foundational models. These are designed to enable rapid deployment across sectors.

Within its healthcare unit, Coforge Healthcare (INFUSED), the company has developed assets such as the InterQual Connect asset on the Pega Marketplace, which facilitates clinical information intake and workflow for Pega Care Management clients. It has also built the Authorization Rule Center (ARC) asset to manage prior authorisation rules across systems and architected a provider office technology platform.

Entry Into the US Provider Market

On February 26, Coforge announced a strategic partnership with VHC Health under which it will serve as the organisation’s digital and IT services provider. The company described the engagement as a “milestone” in its “expansion into the healthcare provider market”.

Coforge said it will lead end-to-end transformation across infrastructure, cloud, digital workplace and cybersecurity. The roadmap includes exiting legacy data centres, migrating to AWS, transforming network infrastructure, implementing IT service management processes using ServiceNow, and deploying its AI-driven EvolveOps.AI and SecureOps Solutions.

Sudhir Singh, CEO and Executive Director, Coforge, said in a statement, “Healthcare is a key growth engine for Coforge. We are proud to partner with VHC Health on this transformational journey and to support their mission of delivering exceptional patient care through a modern, secure digital foundation.”

He added that this engagement reinforces Coforge’s ability to modernise core digital foundations while delivering AI-infused transformation at enterprise scale, combining digital-native agility with the rigour and reliability that healthcare systems require.

Building Capability at Scale

Supporting its vertical strategy is iEnable, Coforge’s central training hub, which runs dedicated domain learning programmes across verticals, including healthcare. The initiative focuses on upskilling and cross-skilling employees through structured training and industry certifications aligned with sector-specific requirements.

While Coforge does not disclose standalone healthcare revenue, the rapid growth of its ‘other businesses’ segment, the integration of Cigniti’s engineering capabilities, and a series of public and provider engagements indicate that healthcare is becoming an increasingly important component of its long-term vertical strategy.
