10 Indian Edtech Founders Leading AI-Backed Learning Transformation

India's edtech journey is still unfolding. From the lockdown era boom, when the sector was flush with capital, to the post-pandemic deflation that saw many startups go bust, edtech companies today are navigating the AI era, shaping the future of AI-powered education, from early schooling to professional upskilling.

AIM has compiled a list of the 10 most influential edtech founders and entrepreneurs who are at the forefront of this transformation.

From steering multi-million learner platforms and building agentic AI tutors to advancing AI in skill development, vernacular education and workforce readiness, these founders stand out not just for the products they have launched or the companies they lead, but for how they have firmly put AI at the centre of India's education agenda.

This year's selection brings together a diverse mix of builders: platform founders and co-founders, operators and investors, K-12 innovators, and higher education disruptors who have played a defining role in how India designs, deploys and scales AI-driven learning.

While some have pushed the boundaries of personalised learning infrastructure and foundational AI curriculum, others have worked to bring intelligent technology into critical areas such as classroom teaching, doubt resolution, assessment, career readiness, and enterprise upskilling. Many have had to wrestle with hard questions about equitable access, data privacy, the role of automation in pedagogy, and what it means to deliver quality education at the scale of a billion-plus population.

Here’s the list of founders building the right foundations and leading in ways that will determine whether India becomes a global force in AI-powered education.
