Pragya Misra

Over the last one year, Pragya Misra has played a pivotal role in shaping OpenAI’s strategy in India. Following her elevation to the role of Head of Strategy and Global Affairs, India, she has brought together the company’s policy, partnerships, product and ecosystem initiatives under a unified India roadmap. 

Misra has led collaborations with government, developers, nonprofits and educational institutions while also spearheading OpenAI’s first integrated India brand campaign, showcasing how ChatGPT is being used in everyday life across languages and professions.

Misra has consistently maintained that India’s importance to OpenAI goes well beyond market size. Throughout the year, she has advocated for responsible AI adoption rooted in accessibility, safety and public policy, while emphasising that developers, researchers and entrepreneurs in India will play a defining role in shaping the next generation of AI applications. Her work has focused on ensuring that AI deployment is accompanied by trust, inclusion and ecosystem development.
