Alok Bajpai is the Managing Director, India, for NTT Global Data Centres, where he leads the company’s growth strategy, business operations, and expansion across one of the world’s fastest-growing digital infrastructure markets. With more than three decades of experience in finance, operations, mergers and acquisitions, and business transformation, he has held senior leadership positions at AdaniConneX, CSS Corp, Intelligroup, and Infosys. Before becoming Managing Director, he served as Chief Financial Officer of NTT Global Data Centres India and played a key role in shaping the company’s growth strategy and investment roadmap.
Under Bajpai’s leadership, NTT Global Data Centres is accelerating the expansion of its India platform, which currently comprises more than 18 operational data centres across major markets, including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Noida, and Hyderabad. The company has established one of the largest data centre footprints in the country and plans to add approximately 400 MW of additional capacity through investments of around $1.5 billion over the next three years.
A key focus area for Bajpai is building AI-ready infrastructure at scale. NTT has introduced advanced cooling technologies, including liquid immersion cooling and direct liquid cooling, to support high-density AI and HPC workloads while improving energy efficiency. The company is also expanding renewable energy usage across its facilities and investing in new campuses, including a major development in Bengaluru, to meet growing demand from hyperscalers, cloud providers, and enterprises.
As India’s data centre market enters a new phase driven by AI, cloud adoption, and digital services, Bajpai is focused on expanding NTT’s infrastructure footprint, advancing sustainable operations, and strengthening the company’s position as a key provider of digital infrastructure for enterprises, hyperscalers, and emerging AI ecosystems.
