Renowned for his witty one liners on X, Pedro Domingos is the Professor Emeritus of computer science and engineering at the University of Washington, and the creator of Markov logic networks. But not just that, he is also the writer of The Master Algorithm: How the Quest for the Ultimate Learning Machine Will Remake Our World, a book that Bill Gates recommends.
Domingos began his academic career as an assistant professor at IST before joining the University of Washington in 1999, where he became a full-time professor in 2012. He has held visiting positions at prestigious institutions such as Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, and MIT.
In 2018, he started a machine learning research group at the hedge fund DE Shaw & Co, though he left the position in 2019.
