Report: Kubernetes & React Native Are The Fastest Emerging IT Skills

In an attempt to empower the talents in the country in making informed decisions around job search, upskilling and robust career building, has unveiled a report — the Naukri Pulse IT skills report, that captures the top 100 skills that recruiters are looking for. 

The pandemic has massively pushed the adoption of digitisation in every aspect of life from ordering groceries online to working remotely for a large section of users in the country. With this appetite for digital transformation across industries, there has been an increase in the demand for IT professionals. And therefore, decided to release this report highlighting the ‘Fast-Emerging’ skills along with granular insights across top cities and experience bands.

According to the skills report, Kubernetes, React Native and Redux have topped the list and are termed as the fast emerging skills of choice for recruiters. While Kubernetes has jumped 53 ranks up to 32 in a year, React Native has jumped 59 ranks and Redux 40 ranks to stand at 42 and 66 respectively. Additional skills that are exceptionally preferred by the recruiters are proficiency in Kafka, Magento, as well as Docker.

The report claims that knowing these skills will help job seekers gain a competitive edge. Other hot skills include Typescript, GCP, Ansible, Spark, Servicenow, Architecture, Scala, Laravel, and PostgreSQL.

Even for this report, Java continued to be the most popular choice for recruiters in the IT sector which is followed by AngularJS, JavaScript, .Net, and ReactJS. Skills like Azure, Hadoop, Kafka, AWS, Node.js, Magento and GCP are also listed amongst the top 100 IT skills in demand.

Categorising the skills according to their region of demand — IT skills such as Java, AngularJS, and ReactJS is high in Delhi/NCR. On the other hand, AWS and Node.js are among the most in-demand IT skills in Bangalore, whereas Python is a popular IT skill after Java and JavaScript in Mumbai.

According to the official release, the insights are based on the hiring behaviour of more than one lakh recruiters on the platform. Apart from this, the report also covers insights around ‘Skills with higher than average salary’, sectioned and categorised into key cities and experience clusters for more relevant insights for jobseekers across a wide spectrum.

Commenting on the report, Pawan Goyal, the Chief Business Officer at, stated to the media that this report had been designed to empower job seekers with credible hiring trends according to market requirements. This will help the talents in their career advancement. The strong database of Naukri’s enabled the team to mine trends based on recruiter actions and predict which skills will give candidates an edge over their peers.

Along with this, the Naukri Pulse microsite makes job discovery simpler for job seekers. As a matter of fact, each skill comes with a clickable link that helps them in discovering the current openings for that particular skill on the platform. Apart from large companies like IBM, Cognizant, Accenture, TCS, Dell, Tech Mahindra, MindTree, Xerox, and Adobe, even startups such as Dunzo, PhonePe, UpGrad, Zoomcar, and Groupon too are hiring for IT roles on Naukri.
