Wipro has announced that the company will be organising a COVID-19 vaccination camp for the employees on its Bengaluru campus. For this initiative, the Bengaluru-headquartered company has joined hands with Connect and Heal (CNH), which is a tech-enabled online-to-offline delivery platform that specialises in primary care and urgent response services.

On April 11th, Rajesh Bhushan, Health Secretary directed state authorities to initiate a discussion with public and private sector employers and managements to launch workplace vaccination. Following the decision, the IT company has started vaccinating its employees at its Electronic City campus since last Thursday, i.e. on 24th April. According to sources, on its first day, the company aimed to vaccinate around 200 employees as well as their families.

In a statement, Wipro said, “The health and safety of our employees remain our foremost priority. We are facilitating complimentary pre and post-vaccination support as well as vaccination reimbursement for our employees and their spouses. On Thursday, we are organizing our first Covid vaccination camp at our Electronics City campus for Bangalore-based employees.”

“We are making necessary efforts to roll out vaccination camps across other major offices in India. We are monitoring the situation and working with experts to ensure that our employees get the best support at every stage,” the company added.

At present, Wipro employs about 1.9 lakh people and besides the Bengaluru camp, the company is looking forward to organising vaccination camps in other centres as well. The company has also launched the Nurturing Wellness Platform, which offers doctors, nutritionists, health coaches, virtual consultations, and 24×7 emergency care experts.

In an official blog post, Wiprostated, “We are continuing restrictions on travel, customer visits, and physical gatherings, until further notice. Our global Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), and crisis management teams are monitoring the situation around the clock. We are committed to supporting our customers and partners in these unprecedented times and will do our best to ensure a safe work environment for all our stakeholders.”
