Vibrant Gujarat 2022 has attracted an Ultra-High-Tech project, which will be the first quantum computing technology park of India.

Innogress, the research firm, announced its intent to set up 'Greater Karnavati Quantum Computing Technology Park' (GKQCTP), a multiparty SPV in quantum computing technology park India, at Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on the sidelines of Vibrant Gujarat 2022 pre-summit events.

"Building in-house capabilities in the quantum computing technology space is strategic for India, as it will fuel our AI supremacy ambitions, which would boost the Indian economy," said Sumant Parimal, founding partner, Innogress and Promoter of GKQCTP.

"Most of our present computing technology is likely to become redundant and obsolete in the next few years, due to which India may not be in a position to augment its digital technologies for a $5T and beyond economic future. Therefore, keeping India's future GDP growth requirements in mind, we have proposed setting up the first quantum computing technology park in Gujarat. The park will be creating a robust quantum technology ecosystem, right from research & development, design & engineering, simulation, and testing, to manufacturing, packaging, and enabling skills in quantum tech," he added.

"GKQCTP project is aligned with India's National Mission on Quantum Technologies & Applications (NM-QTA) and goals of 'Aatamanirbhar Bharat', 'Make in India' and 'Digital India'.

Further, with inhouse manufacturing of Qubits based ultrahigh-speed quantum computing chips at GKQCTP, India's dependence on silicon-based imported semiconductors and IC chips, which operates on classical bits, will come down and will create an IT future beyond silicon for India", said Parimal.
