Cloud-based ERP provider Acumatica has opened a new global capability centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, starting with more than 30 employees, as the company expands its engineering footprint in India to drive product development and serve customers globally.
Located in Nanakramguda, the Hyderabad centre will initially focus on engineering and is expected to grow its workforce in the coming months. Acumatica said the GCC could eventually expand into additional functions as the company increases its presence in the region.
“We have created the core of our growth engine in India with an initial seed, and we look forward to it becoming a mature tree and a major contributor to the success of Acumatica customers and Acumatica itself,” said Miten Mehta, Chief Engineering Officer of Acumatica.
“India’s deep engineering talent pool, thriving technology ecosystem, and growing reputation as a destination for global innovation centres make Hyderabad the ideal home for this next chapter of how we deliver value to small and mid-sized businesses,” Mehta stated.
The new GCC is being positioned as an engineering centre of excellence that will develop products and capabilities for Acumatica’s customers worldwide. The company said the centre will form part of its globally distributed engineering organisation and support its longer-term product innovation and growth strategy.
Acumatica currently operates across the US, Canada, Serbia and Sri Lanka. The Hyderabad GCC adds India to this global engineering network, with the company looking to build a larger local team over time.
The company is actively hiring engineering talent for the Hyderabad centre. While the GCC currently has more than 30 employees, Acumatica said additional employees will join in the coming months.
The centre will initially focus on engineering, while its mandate could expand into other disciplines as the operation matures.
Acumatica has established the Hyderabad GCC in partnership with Summit Consulting Services, an ANSR company that specialises in helping companies build and scale GCCs.
