Anthropic has signed a $35 billion cloud-computing agreement with NVIDIA-backed cloud provider Lambda for capacity at a Texas data centre, according to Reuters.
The facility, being developed by Hut 8 in Nueces County, Texas, will provide about 350 MW of capacity and is expected to use NVIDIA-powered infrastructure.
The report added that NVIDIA would hold the data centre lease. Hut 8 had previously disclosed a 15-year, $19.6 billion lease with an unnamed investment-grade customer. The Financial Times later reported that NVIDIA was that customer.
Lambda will provide the computing capacity to Anthropic, while NVIDIA is the tenant of the underlying data centre facility.
The Lambda agreement comes days after Anthropic reportedly agreed to spend $45 billion over six years to rent AI computing capacity from Nscale's data centre campus in West Virginia.
The Nscale agreement covers about 460 MW of power capacity, with Nscale expected to deploy NVIDIA's Vera Rubin chips for Anthropic.
The company is also committing substantial amounts to other computing suppliers: AMD said in July that it would sell Anthropic tens of billions of dollars' worth of AI servers while investing up to $5 billion in the company.
Anthropic has also agreed to pay SpaceX $1.25 billion per month through May 2029 for compute capacity across its Colossus data centre clusters, according to information disclosed in SpaceX's IPO filing
Anthropic is preparing for a potential public listing later this year targeting a $2 trillion valuation.
According to reports, the company’s annual revenue run rate topped $65 billion at the end of July, up from $47 billion in May and about $9 billion at the end of 2025. Anthropic is projecting revenue of roughly $190–200 billion in 2028.
