Canada’s Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) and FMCG major Nestlé are setting up global capability centres (GCCs) in Hyderabad, according to a report by The Times of India (TOI).
The centres will add to the city’s growing network of multinational technology and operations hubs. According to the report, CIBC plans to launch its Hyderabad GCC in July, while Nestlé expects to open its centre in the coming months.
The development comes as Hyderabad continues to attract multinational firms across banking, financial services and consumer sectors. CIBC’s facility will reportedly house over 2,000 professionals and stem from an investment commitment made during the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025.
This could encourage more banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) firms to choose Hyderabad for similar centres. The city already houses firms such as JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, UBS, Vanguard, Wells Fargo, Deutsche Börse, HSBC, US Bancorp, Barclays, American Express and Zurich Insurance.
While Bengaluru remains the goldmine of GCCs, Hyderabad is catching pace faster than ever. The city today hosts over 450 GCCs, employing more than 1.35 lakh professionals.
US-based LPL Financial also launched its first India GCC in the city and is building towards hundreds of hires across technology, data analytics, risk and product engineering.
According to Xpheno’s June 2026 Active Tech Jobs Outlook report, the city had around 8,000 active tech openings. While that marked a 20% month-on-month and 50% year-on-year drop, the city continues to attract multinational GCC investment across the banking, financial services, and consumer sectors.
Nestlé’s planned GCC will support Hyderabad’s FMCG and food processing ecosystem, as the centre is expected to focus on innovation and supply chain development while creating jobs in the city.
According to the Nasscom-Zinnov GCC Landscape Report 2026, India hosted an estimated 2,117 GCCs in FY26, with more than 500 new centres added over the past five years. Two-thirds of new GCCs launched in the last two years chose tier-1 cities, underlining the pull of hubs such as Hyderabad for multinational firms seeking technology and operations talent.
Meanwhile, US-based aerospace and advanced engineering firm SARGAD plans to establish a global innovation centre in Hyderabad. According to TOI, company representatives met Telangana CM Revanth Reddy during the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos. The proposed facility will support Hyderabad’s ambitions to strengthen its aerospace and advanced engineering ecosystem.
