CoRover.ai has listed three BharatGPT models on AIKosh, the government-backed National AI Datasets and Models Platform under the IndiaAI Mission. The models cover multilingual language processing, text generation, reasoning and Hindi speech recognition.
The listing follows a review, testing and approval process conducted by IndiaAI and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), according to the company. The development brings CoRover’s language and speech models to a national platform intended to support AI development in India.
The three models include BharatGPT Mini, a 538-million-parameter foundational language model trained from scratch; BharatGPT Instruct, a multilingual model built on a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture; and ASR Hindi Conformer, which converts spoken Hindi into text.
“The availability of our BharatGPT models on AIKosh marks an important step in making Indian-developed AI capabilities accessible through a national platform,” said Ankush Sabharwal, Founder and CEO of CoRover.ai.
BharatGPT Mini supports Indic languages and is designed to run across on-premises infrastructure, cloud, edge and hybrid environments. CoRover claims the model outperforms models more than 15 times its size in terms of parameters, although the announcement does not specify the benchmarks used for the comparison.
BharatGPT Instruct is designed for text generation, coding, reasoning and enterprise tasks across Indic and global languages. Its MoE architecture supports instruction-following and conversational applications.
The third model, ASR Hindi Conformer, focuses on speech recognition. According to CoRover, it recorded a Word Error Rate (WER) of 24.72% and a Character Error Rate (CER) of 21.78% on the AI4Bharat/Lahaja Hindi test set. The startup said its results were competitive with larger speech recognition systems, including AI4Bharat Indic Conformer 600M Multilingual.
AIKosh provides access to datasets, models and tools to support the development of AI applications in India. The platform operates under the IndiaAI Mission, implemented by MeitY.
Beyond the model listing, CoRover said it is building a Sovereign Agentic AI Framework for the Government of India to support secure, compliant and interoperable deployment of AI agents across government departments and citizen services.
