Delhivery has announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to develop AI-driven digital mapping and location intelligence solutions tailored to Bharat’s complex geography and non-standardised addressing systems. The announcement was made at the India AI Impact Summit.
At the core of the initiative is Delhivery’s plan to leverage NVIDIA accelerated computing, CV-CUDA, and NVIDIA Nemotron open models to build highly accurate, scalable, and locally contextual mapping capabilities. These systems will be powered by Delhivery’s petabytes of proprietary logistics data accumulated over several years, enabling deeper insights into India’s uniquely fragmented address ecosystem.
Key capabilities under evaluation include address disambiguation to distinguish between phonetically similar localities, contextual inference to interpret unstructured address descriptions, and predictive sequencing to optimise last-mile delivery routes in dense and unplanned urban environments.
India’s rapid urbanisation and geographic diversity pose challenges for conventional global mapping tools, which often rely on standardised coordinates and structured data. Addresses across the country frequently depend on local landmarks, informal directions, and vernacular descriptions. Through this collaboration, Delhivery aims to apply AI models that can better interpret these nuances at scale.
“Bharat needs mapping solutions that operate at scale and can understand the pulse of its streets. Standard global mapping tools often struggle with the nuances of Indian addresses. By combining Delhivery’s dataset of billions of shipments with NVIDIA’s accelerated computing, we are exploring a location intelligence layer to power India’s digital growth,” Kapil Bharati, Co-founder and CTO, Delhivery, said.
Commenting on the partnership, Vishal Dhupar, MD of South Asia, NVIDIA, said, “NVIDIA technologies are enabling developers and companies to turn complex data into actionable insights. Delhivery’s work demonstrates how NVIDIA AI infrastructure and open AI models like NVIDIA Nemotron can help address large-scale geospatial challenges to help India’s technology leaders provide a new wave of AI-powered applications and services.”
With an India-first approach focused on performance, scalability, and local relevance, Delhivery’s AI-powered mapping platform is expected to serve as foundational digital infrastructure for applications that require precise, intelligent, and continuously updated location data, supporting the next phase of India’s digital economy.
