Eros Innovation has announced a £265 million ($355 million) investment commitment in the United Kingdom over the next five years and licensed its cultural AI dataset to its UK operations, marking a major expansion of its artificial intelligence and content production initiatives.
The announcement was made at London Tech Week where the company also unveiled new film and entertainment projects under its Eros Brahmand, Eros Universe, and Eros Remastered programmes.
Eros said the investment will support film production, AI research, animation, microdrama content, music studios, and cultural AI development in the UK. The company will also establish what it described as a sovereign-grade cultural AI capability in Britain using its rights-cleared cultural dataset.
According to Eros, the dataset has been independently valued at $1.7 billion by OxValue.AI, a University of Oxford spin-out. The dataset is built from more than 11,000 films and over 100,000 characters forming the foundation of the company’s cultural AI models.
As part of the initiative, the company will develop AI training and research activities in the UK and explore academic partnerships with British institutions.
The company also confirmed that two upcoming productions, Nandi: War of Kailasa and Tanu Weds Manu – The Next Chapter, will be filmed in the UK in 2026. Both projects are part of a broader slate of 15 productions announced during the event.
Kanishka Narayan, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the UK’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, said the investment reflected growing collaboration between India and the United Kingdom in artificial intelligence, technology, and creative industries.
Swaneet Singh, Co-President of Eros Innovation, said “The company was bringing not only investment but also a cultural AI ecosystem to Britain.”
“What we are bringing to Britain is a sovereign-grade cultural artificial intelligence capability, one of the world’s largest rights-cleared cultural datasets, the AI Studio that will operate on it, and a long-term partnership with British talent and institutions,” he added.
Ridhima Lulla, Co-founder and Co-President of Eros Innovation noted that the company aims to combine storytelling, culture, and artificial intelligence to create new forms of entertainment.
