Vanderlande, a logistics process automation company, has inaugurated its India Innovation Centre in Pune, with a focus on India’s engineering, innovation, and technology talent ecosystem.
The new centre will serve as a collaborative hub for developing next-generation automation solutions across warehousing, airports, and parcel operations for Vanderlande’s global customers.
With this addition, Vanderlande India becomes the company’s second-largest technology hub worldwide, after the Netherlands, marking a major milestone in Vanderlande India’s evolution as a global capability centre (GCC).
Spanning two acres, the Pune-based centre brings together research and development, system testing, training, and end-to-end engineering ownership under a single environment. The facility is designed to enable engineers to co-create, test, and scale solutions across robotic automation, autonomous systems, AI, and digital-physical integration, supporting customers across global logistics and infrastructure domains.
“For our customers, automation is no longer optional—it is essential. Our Innovation Centres are pivotal in creating smarter, more efficient solutions, guided by our core values like Every Day Better focused on continuous improvement and innovation. As our second-largest technology hub, India will further strengthen our global innovation ecosystem through this new centre,” Astrid van Druten, CFO, Vanderlande said in a statement.
The centre is also designed to enhance workforce capability by enabling employees to work on real-world, end-to-end engineering challenges, deepen technical expertise, and contribute directly to the full lifecycle of market-leading automation systems deployed worldwide.
“The inauguration of our new India Innovation Centre marks an important milestone that reflects Vanderlande’s confidence and continued investments in Vanderlande India. The centre embodies our ambition to support innovation, build global capabilities, and make a positive impact on Vanderlande’s worldwide operations,” Manish Patil, MD, Vanderlande India, added.
Vanderlande India has grown steadily over the years—from a small support office into a 1,300+ employee GCC spanning R&D, software development, core engineering disciplines, and shared services.
