Microsoft has appointed Aparajita Puri as Managing Director for India and South Asia, where she will lead the Strategic Pursuits Team and focus on enterprise deals in artificial intelligence, data, and cloud.
Puri has joined Microsoft after over a decade at McKinsey & Company, where she served as a partner, advising clients across sectors and geographies.
Announcing the move, Puri said in a release, “After an incredibly rewarding journey at McKinsey & Company, I’m excited to begin a new chapter at Microsoft.”
She added that her role will involve “partnering with leading enterprises on some of the largest and most transformative opportunities, especially as AI, data, and accelerated cloud adoption reshape industries.”
Her appointment comes as enterprises in India and South Asia increase spending on AI-led transformation and cloud infrastructure—areas where Microsoft has been expanding its enterprise footprint.
Puri said she is “looking forward to building, learning and contributing in a new way towards a better India” under India and South Asia President Puneet Chandok.
The move reflects a broader shift of senior consultants moving into operating roles at technology companies as demand rises for execution-focused transformation programmes.
