NuSynth Technologies, an R&D-led process innovation collaborative startup for complex chemistry, has raised ₹36.5 crore ($4 million) in seed funding. The round was co-led by Avaana Capital and Shastra VC.

The Mysuru-based startup redesigns chemical processes from first principles with predictive synthesis models instead. By re-evaluating starting materials, reaction pathways, and process economics, the platform develops synthetic routes engineered for cost efficiency, yield, cycle time, safety, sustainability, and scalability.

Its NuSynth AI engine is designed to redesign and optimise chemical synthesis processes, shortening traditional R&D gestation cycles.

It reinvents how complex chemicals are processed, with the engine acting as an analytical core that processes experimental data generated from each research and development phase. It feeds these insights into future cycles, heavily shortening the time needed to develop alternative chemical processes.

Poorvank Purohit, Co-founder and CEO of NuSynth Technologies, said India wants to build proprietary processes that deliver superior economics and sustainability and serve customers across global markets.

Shruthi Srivastava, Partner at Avaana Capital, said that to advance high-performance industrial chemistry, proprietary synthesis pathways must be “fundamentally more efficient and commercially scalable over time”.

Avijeet Alagathi, Managing Partner at Shastra VC, said, “What excites us about NuSynth is how they are using AI to make chemical R&D faster and more efficient.”

He added that the startup reduces trial and error by learning from experiments, enabling faster development and scaling of new chemistries.

“The founding team brings together a rare combination of scientific depth, industry experience, and execution capability, and believes this combination, along with its data and an AI engine, strongly positions NuSynth to build a differentiated process innovation platform from India for global markets,” he said in a statement.
