Bengaluru’s quantum startup, QpiAI, in partnership with Alliance University, have announced the launch of an eight-qubit quantum experience centre in Bengaluru. The centre, named AU QUASAR, will open at the university’s upcoming Electronic City campus in the coming months.
The partnership brings together QpiAI and Alliance University to create a joint academic-industry facility. The centre will deploy QpiAI’s Q-Vidya eight-qubit superconducting system and the QpiAI Explorer platform.
“This partnership embodies our vision of making quantum computing accessible to every Indian innovator, researcher, and enterprise,” said Nagendra Nagaraja, Founder and CEO of QpiAI. He added that the centre would help accelerate adoption and support the goals of the National Quantum Mission (NQM).
The facility will align its programmes with NQM and serve technology firms, public-sector units, and startups operating in the Bengaluru region. The announcement took place in the presence of Dr Manjula N, Karnataka’s IT/BT, Electronics, and S&T Secretary.
The project will give students, enterprises, and government users access to an eight-qubit superconducting quantum system and provide hands-on quantum computing access for academia, enterprises and government users.
It will offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral pathways in quantum computing, AI, and related fields by supporting collaborative research projects and proof-of-concept validation. Moreover, it will offer quantum computing as a service for commercial and strategic users.
Abhay G Chebbi, Pro-Chancellor of Alliance University, said the centre would integrate degree programmes, research and enterprise engagement. “It will help build the national quantum talent pipeline while creating sustainable commercial and research outcomes,” he said.
