Indian fintech company Razorpay has launched the Razorpay Command Line Interface (CLI) in India, allowing developers and AI systems to manage payments directly from coding environments without logging into dashboards.
The company said developers, AI builders, and AI assistants can now issue refunds, manage orders, check transactions, and access payment information from within their coding setup using simple commands.
The CLI can work with AI-powered coding tools and agentic workflows, including platforms such as Anthropic’s Claude Cowork and OpenAI Codex, enabling AI agents to interact with Razorpay directly from those environments.
For instance, developers or AI assistants can use commands such as “Show me my latest payment” or “Refund this transaction,” with the Razorpay CLI securely fetching the requested information.
The launch is part of Razorpay’s broader push to build AI-ready financial infrastructure and reduce manual workflows tied to payments management.
“The way businesses work with software is changing fast. Dashboards will continue to exist, but they can no longer be the only way businesses interact with payments,” said Khilan Haria, Chief Product Officer at Razorpay, said in a statement.
“Businesses increasingly expect payments to work naturally inside the tools and automation systems they already use every day. With Razorpay CLI, a developer can test integrations automatically, a finance team can reconcile payments without relying on manual processes, and AI agents can interact with Razorpay directly from coding environments,” Haria added.
According to the company, the CLI will help businesses automate payment operations and reduce repetitive manual tasks. Razorpay also said the system is expected to support more autonomous payment-related workflows handled by AI agents over time.
The company said the launch builds on its earlier investments in AI-native infrastructure, including its MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, which allows AI systems to interact with Razorpay services.
Razorpay said its long-term goal is to make its payment capabilities accessible through APIs, code environments, automation tools, and AI agents in addition to dashboards.
