Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace has signed a multi-launch agreement with Kerala’s space tech company HEX20 to launch the latter’s Earth observation constellation and in-orbit payload demonstration missions.
The agreement includes three dedicated launches aboard Skyroot’s Vikram launch vehicles, with the first mission scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027.
The agreement was signed in Hyderabad by Naga Bharath Daka, Co-founder and COO of Skyroot Aerospace, and MB Aravind, Co-Founder and COO of HEX20. Under the deal, the Vikram missions will also offer rideshare opportunities for third-party spacecraft alongside HEX20’s satellites.
The announcement comes weeks after Skyroot’s Vikram-1 became India’s first privately developed orbital-class rocket to reach orbit on its maiden flight in July 2026. The company said the mission established flight heritage for all major subsystems and supports its plans to increase launch frequency to 12 missions annually.

It added that the HEX20 agreement accounts for three slots in its near-term launch manifest.
“Enabling innovators like HEX20 with reliable and responsive access to space is what the Vikram series is built for, and we look forward to supporting their ambitions for years to come,” said Daka.
Skyroot said Vikram-1 can deploy small satellites weighing up to 350 kg into low Earth orbit. The company develops its launch vehicle structures and propulsion systems in-house and is expanding its launch operations to meet demand for dedicated small satellite launches.
Amal Chandran, CEO of HEX20, said the partnership reflects the growing maturity of India’s private space ecosystem. “Our partnership with Skyroot brings complementary capabilities together, allowing us to create stronger pathways to orbit and enable more ambitious missions for customers in India and around the world.”
