Sonata Software has appointed Hariprasad Rebala as the Chief AI Officer, giving him responsibility for driving the company’s AI strategy as it seeks to transition into what it calls an “AI-native” organisation.
Rebala will oversee Sonata’s AI-led business transformation across its offerings, service delivery, platforms, capabilities, ecosystem and partnerships, the company said in a statement.
His mandate includes developing AI-native delivery capabilities and helping clients translate AI investments into measurable business outcomes.
The appointment comes as IT services companies increasingly reorganise around AI capabilities, with firms looking to move beyond deploying AI tools for clients towards embedding the technology across their own delivery models and offerings.
Rebala brings more than three decades of experience across IT services, enterprise technology and startups.
“AI is rapidly moving from experimentation to becoming fundamental to how enterprises compete, operate and create value. AI alone will not define the winners—the ability to translate AI into enterprise velocity will,” Rebala said in a statement.
“My focus will be on building differentiated AI capabilities and platforms with our customers and partners, turning AI investments into measurable business outcomes and sustained competitive advantage,” he added.
Before joining Sonata, he was the Chief of AI Solutions and Growth at voice AI startup Gnani.ai. He had earlier co-founded Forfend Cybernatics, where he worked on IoT and conversational AI platforms.
He has also held senior leadership positions at Mindtree, Capgemini and Wipro, where he worked on business scaling, industry practices and large transformation programmes, particularly in banking and financial services.
“Transforming Sonata Software into an AI-native organisation is foundational to our growth trajectory. Hari brings a unique combination of AI startup and IT services expertise, with deep context of enterprise-grade AI platforms and engineering, delivering to outcome-based models,” Rajsekhar Datta Roy, Chief Executive Officer, Sonata Software, said.
The company said the appointment is part of a broader strategy to embed AI across its engineering, platforms, delivery model and client solutions.
Sonata, headquartered in Bengaluru, has more than 6,400 AI engineers and works with technology providers including Microsoft, AWS, Salesforce and Snowflake.
