SpaceX is planning a new Starbase launch site in Louisiana, US to support Starship launches and expand its launch operations. The company said the site will enable a “high-cadence launch” programme as it works to develop Starship for future space missions.
The company said the site will help “open a pathway to the stars for humanity” through increased Starship launch activity.
It added that the launch site is designed to support a high frequency of Starship launches. SpaceX did not provide details on the site’s launch schedule or construction timeline in its announcement.

The project adds another launch location to SpaceX’s Starship programme. The company currently conducts Starship test flights from its Starbase facility in Texas.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said the planned Louisiana site will eventually have more than a dozen launch towers and support over 30 Starship flights per day. He shared the details in a post on X, describing the facility as potentially “the biggest launch site on Earth”.
Musk said the planned launch site will be built to handle a high volume of Starship flights. He did not provide a timeline for reaching the proposed capacity or specify when construction of all the launch towers would begin.
