ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, India (STT GDC India) has launched STT Jaipur 1, Rajasthan’s first high-performance data centre, marking the company’s entry into the state as it expands its AI and cloud infrastructure footprint beyond India’s tier-1 cities.
The new facility is designed to support high-performance computing (HPC), cloud workloads, enterprise applications and AI-driven use cases, catering to growing demand for compute-intensive infrastructure from enterprises, government organisations, cloud providers and digital-native businesses.
With the launch, STT GDC India has expanded its national network to 34 data centres across 10 cities, with a cumulative 613 MW IT load capacity, reinforcing its strategy to build digital infrastructure in emerging technology hubs.
STT Jaipur 1 is being developed with an IT design capacity of 6 MW, a total power load of 10 MVA, and is housed in a three-storey facility spread across 5,971 square metres. According to the company, the data centre has been designed with a focus on energy efficiency, operational resilience and environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles to support customers’ sustainability goals.
Commenting on the launch, Bimal Khandelwal, Chief Executive Officer of STT GDC India, said, “India’s digital growth is being driven by increasing demand for data-intensive applications, cloud adoption and high-performance computing capabilities. Infrastructure will be critical in enabling this next phase of growth. The launch of STT Jaipur 1 represents a strategic investment in Rajasthan’s digital future and reflects our conviction that the next wave of digital infrastructure growth will extend well beyond India’s tier-1 cities.”
He added that Rajasthan is emerging as a key destination for technology investments.
“With STT Jaipur 1, we are bringing high-performance data centre capabilities to the region, enabling enterprises, cloud providers, and public sector organisations to scale securely and efficiently. As the state’s first enterprise-grade data centre, this facility will play a pivotal role in supporting Rajasthan’s digital economy and strengthening India's broader AI infrastructure ecosystem,” he mentioned.
The company said the launch comes amid rising demand for AI, cloud computing and data-intensive applications, which are driving the need for scalable and resilient digital infrastructure across India. The Jaipur facility is expected to support enterprises looking to deploy advanced computing workloads while strengthening the state's digital infrastructure ecosystem.
The announcement is part of STT GDC India’s broader expansion strategy to extend enterprise-grade digital infrastructure beyond established metro markets and support India’s growing AI and digital economy.
