Microsoft to Pump More Funds into OpenAI: What’ll be the Implication?

According to recent media reports, Microsoft is in ‘advanced talks’ for a new round of funding in OpenAI. The details of the deal are still under discussion, and the funding amount is being negotiated. The fund raised is expected to be channelled to further incorporate AI in OpenAI’s products.
OpenAI has had a close association with Microsoft in the past few years, one of the most significant ones being the latter’s investment of USD 1 billion in the AI research lab in 2019.
