The German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH) has partnered with Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), IIT Kanpur, and Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms-C-CAMP to create the Innovators Connect Tandem Program to enable international collaborations and provide competitive edge in research, business and innovation among new Indian and German entrepreneurs in fields of life sciences, healthtech, digitech, sustainability, agritech and energy disciplines.
The Innovators Connect Tandem Program is a two-week workshop and hands-on program where innovators from both countries will tandem (pair) up to work up solutions on a specific problem statement.
The fully funded program will provide innovators with mentors from different disciplines and on topics such as validating problem statements, pitching ideas, business planning and creating funding opportunities in both countries.
The program starts with a demo-day on 18 August 2022 in Bangalore where tandems will pitch their business idea to the jury for which the winners from India will be offered two on-site opportunities in Germany, including a participation in the Innovation week in Germany.
Prof. Amitabha Bandhyopadhyay, Professor-in-charge, SIIC, IIT Kanpur stated that the program will allow entrepreneurs to understand the thought process of the partner country and bring in more opportunities and creativity along the learning process.
Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Technical University (TU) of Braunschweig & Science and Start-ups Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, and Charité – Universitätsmedizin are the partners from Germany.
