AIM 100: India's Most Influential People Shaping AI in 2026
Jaya Jagadish
Senior Vice President & Country Head, AMD India

Over the past year, Jaya Jagadish has emerged as one of the strongest voices behind India’s semiconductor ambitions. As Chair of the SemiconIndia Future Skills Talent Committee, she has worked closely with the government on building the talent pipeline needed to support the country’s growing chip ecosystem. She has repeatedly highlighted AMD India’s role as the company’s largest R&D centre outside the US, with engineers contributing across CPUs, GPUs, adaptive computing and AI accelerators, reinforcing India’s position in AMD’s global product roadmap.
Jagadish has also argued that India’s semiconductor opportunity extends far beyond manufacturing. She believes that chip design, engineering talent and IP creation will determine the country’s long-term competitiveness. At the same time, she identified AI and high-performance computing as the biggest inflection point for the semiconductor industry, calling for a closer collaboration between industry, academia and government to build a globally competitive ecosystem.
