Rajesh Varrier

Rajesh Varrier leads Cognizant's software engineering group and global operational model, as well as overseeing its presence in India.

In the past year, Varrier has been at the centre of Cognizant's strategic transformation. He guides the strategic direction across digital engineering, application development and management, and quality engineering teams, defining how engineering capability is built, scaled, and delivered to clients worldwide.

A major recent initiative under his leadership was the Cognizant Ace Team Programme. It builds a cohort of top engineering minds that deliver digital transformation for clients and play a central role in the company's evolution into an AI builder organisation, starting with India. Varrier described it as a critical step as enterprises move from AI experimentation to real-world execution.

A former senior leader at Infosys, serving as EVP, Head of Global Services at Infosys Americas, Varrier was brought in by CEO Ravi Kumar S to drive operational rigor, delivery excellence, and workforce transformation across Cognizant's global business.

Varrier also sits on the NASSCOM Executive Council and serves on the board of directors of Cognizant Foundation India.
