Mumbai-based Web Werks has announced the acquisition of a standalone data centre in Hyderabad, the company’s first in the city. It will offer a power capacity of 10 MVA with an expected IT load of up to 6MW, and the first phase will be finished by the fourth quarter of this year. A statement released by Web Werks said that the building for the data centre will be located in Hyderabad’s business district HITEC city.
“For Telangana, which has a policy on data centres in place, it is another significant expansion for us. Our data centre facility will enable customers to rapidly scale digital transformation strategies by deploying critical infrastructure in a global data centre that will offer capacity, cloud, and connectivity,” CEO of the company Nikhil Rathi said.
The company already has strategic data centres set up in Mumbai, Delhi, NCR and Pune.
Last month, Web Werks announced it will be setting up its first data centre in Bengaluru in Whitefield. Among the two upcoming facilities are a second data centre in Mumbai with 12.5 MVA power capacity and the Bangalore unit, which has a power capacity of 10 MVA.
In the recent past, Web Werks has had a growth spurt in India. Just last week, the company appointed Kamal Goel as the director of IT and chief evangelist, while Durgesh Pandey was appointed chief finance officer.
