Increasingly, companies are looking for roles that rely extensively on Python and as you would have guessed, these are also one of the most in-demand job roles that pay well. The number of jobs requiring Python as a skill posted every month has also increased significantly. This general purpose language is extensively used in domains like app development, web development, script writing, etc.

Data from our recent study indicates that Python programming skill bags the highest salaries among analytics professionals i.e. Rs 15.1 Lakh as the median. The language has also seen the highest jump in median salaries vis-à-vis last year – an increase by 8.6%.

According to our latest Annual Survey On Data Science Recruitment In India for 2019, almost 75% of the respondents are talking about the importance of Python in data science and said that it is the most important language to be learnt by a Data Scientist. The responsibilities include assessing the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques, use predictive modeling to increase and optimise customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting, and other business outcomes, develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.

3| DevOps Engineer

The responsibilities of a DevOps engineer include implementation of integrations required by customers, develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems, investigate and resolve technical issues, develop scripts to automate visualization, design procedures for maintenance and troubleshooting, etc.

4| Data Analyst

A data analyst is basically responsible for processing large sets of data and connecting that with actions which can drive business impact. The career of a software engineer typically follows one of two primary paths: they either progress through greater responsibility and ownership over technical architecture and systems or they progress into managing teams of software engineers and help orchestrate larger projects and help develop and mentor more junior engineers.

According to the prominent job site, the average salary of python developer in cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad is expected to be more than INR 6,50,000 per year. The average salary of a data analyst with Python skills is expected to be INR 404,660 per year and can exceed more than INR 700,000. According to this blog, the salary of a software engineer starts with an average of INR 4.5 LPA and can exceed up to INR 38 LPA.

With emerging technologies like data science and machine learning, organisations are adopting the use of Python language in a vast manner. Some of the big tech companies which use Python language are Google, IBM, NASA, Youtube, Facebook, Mozilla, etc. However, the salaries for Python programmers do vary among different places, yet the demand for Python programmers is increasing eventually.
