It’s only been a few days since we spoke highly of the music generation platform Suno AI, which can create a song in any genre or theme of your choice with simple text prompts. Now, here comes Udio!
With text prompts for genres and styles of one’s desire, Udio can create any track, whether it be EDM, piano jazz, or extreme metal, with ease. Similar to Suno AI, the application provides an user-friendly interface for creating and storing songs. Udio can even generate vocals in multiple styles including Bollywood themed-songs.
The company is backed by some of the top investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Mike Krieger, Oriol Vinyals and music artist Will.I.Am, amongst others. The company raised $10 million in seed funding.
After being in closed beta, Udio made its public presence yesterday with the option for anyone to try the new platform.
Google DeepMind Expertise
The new platform is not only backed by some of the greatest tech investors but also founded by former big tech researchers. David Ding, the founder and CEO of Udio Music, along with other co-founders Conor Durkan, Charlie Nash, Yaroslav Ganin, were senior researchers with Google DeepMind for over five years. “There is nothing available that comes close to the ease of use, voice quality, and musicality of what we’ve achieved with Udio — it’s a real testament to the folks we have involved,” he said.
The application that was open to all garnered a surge of interest that ultimately led to a waitlist period. Given the current intense interest, it remains uncertain whether this enthusiasm will persist or diminish until the next app arrives.
