DoorDash has opened its first India office in Hyderabad with an initial workforce of 500 professionals and plans to expand the team to more than 3,000 employees over the next two years, as the US-based hyperlocal commerce company looks to scale its global technology and support operations from India.
The Hyderabad hub, located in Hitec City, will initially house Customer Experience and Integrity (CXI) and general and administrative teams. The CXI operation will be only the third internally owned DoorDash CXI service centre globally, alongside facilities in Tempe, Arizona, and Mexico City.
The company said the Hyderabad team will support DoorDash's global operations, serving consumers, merchants and Dashers across its international markets. DoorDash currently operates across more than 40 countries and serves over 56 million monthly active consumers.
Hyderabad will serve as an owned DoorDash CXI hub and will own and drive the company's customer support organisation from India as an extended arm of its global CXI function.
DoorDash said it could add more specialised capabilities, including integrity, fraud review, and technical functions, to the Hyderabad operation over time.
Jenna Kohnke, Senior Director, Workforce Strategy and Talent Acquisition Operations at DoorDash, said in a statement, “Establishing DoorDash’s first hub in India is an important milestone in expanding our global operations network. Hyderabad’s exceptional talent, thriving technology ecosystem, and commitment to building a world-class environment for global capability centres made it a natural choice for our long-term investment.”
The expansion comes as DoorDash continues to build out its global operating footprint. The company reported more than $100 billion in marketplace gross order value in 2025 and operates across more than 40 countries.
The DoorDash investment adds hyperlocal digital commerce to Hyderabad's growing GCC ecosystem, which already includes global technology, retail, logistics and commerce companies.
D Sridhar Babu, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce, and Legislative Affairs, Telangana government, said, “DoorDash choosing Hyderabad to build capabilities to drive its rapid growth is a strong validation of how Hyderabad has evolved as a global talent hub. Its Hyderabad hub is expected to grow to a 3,000-plus strong headcount, bringing global capabilities in hyperlocal commerce, customer experience, technology and operations to Hyderabad.”
The Telangana government said Hyderabad has more than 500 GCCs and is targeting more than 100 additional GCCs, with an ambition to create over 1 lakh new high-value jobs and more than 3 lakh indirect jobs. The government expects the city's GCC workforce to reach 10 lakh employees by 2029.
For DoorDash, the Hyderabad operation will also give it access to the city's established technology talent pool as it expands its presence in India. The company said employees will work across customer experience, integrity and corporate functions, with additional specialised capabilities potentially added as the hub grows.
