HCLTech and US-based data infrastructure company NetApp have expanded their partnership to offer hybrid cloud storage-as-a-service (STaaS), targeting enterprises looking to scale artificial intelligence and data-intensive workloads.
The offering combines HCLTech’s Utility for Everything (U4X) digital infrastructure framework with NetApp’s Keystone pay-as-you-go storage service. It will allow enterprises to scale storage, performance and data services based on changing workload requirements, the companies said in a statement on August 13.
The offering is designed to support AI and generative AI applications alongside traditional enterprise workloads. HCLTech will also integrate its AI Factory suite into the solution to support AI development, deployment and operations.
The expanded partnership comes as enterprises move from AI experimentation towards larger-scale deployments, increasing demand for infrastructure that can accommodate fluctuating storage and computing requirements.
“By combining flexible infrastructure models with strong data management capabilities, we are enabling clients to unlock the value of their data and accelerate their AI journeys,” said Rampal Singh, Senior Vice President, Hybrid Cloud Business Unit at HCLTech.
The consumption-based model aims to reduce the need for upfront infrastructure spending while allowing customers to scale capacity up or down based on demand.
The companies cited deployments involving a global food and beverage company and a European telecommunications provider as examples of their existing work. The food and beverage company adopted a consumption-based model to improve operational flexibility and reduce upfront investments, while the telecom provider used the approach to improve scalability and resilience across distributed environments.
“We believe strong partnerships are built by co-creating technology offerings, business models, solutions and services that deliver meaningful customer value. This collaboration gives customers access to NetApp’s intelligent data infrastructure through a flexible, accessible business model, backed by HCLTech’s hands-on expertise,” said Alvaro Celis, Chief Partner and Ecosystem Officer at NetApp.
HCLTech reported a 20.3% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to ₹4,626 crore, while revenue rose 13.9% year-on-year to ₹34,579 crore during the quarter ended June 30, 2026. In constant currency, revenue grew 2.6% from a year earlier but declined 0.5% sequentially, reflecting the seasonally weak first quarter.
