Infosys has expanded its engagement with Norway's DNB Bank ASA to modernise the lender's financial crime operations, as banks increasingly invest in technology platforms to strengthen anti-money laundering and fraud detection capabilities.
Under the expanded partnership, the tech giant will help DNB consolidate its financial crime management functions onto NICE Actimize's X-Sight Enterprise platform, replacing fragmented legacy infrastructure with a unified system for monitoring, screening and investigations.
DNB, Norway's largest bank, will consolidate functions including customer and payment screening, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, and fraud detection onto a single software-as-a-service platform with a unified case management system.
Infosys, which will serve as the systems integration partner, will be responsible for enterprise architecture design, platform integration and data migration as part of the transformation programme.
The Bengaluru-headquartered IT services company said the platform will combine anti-money laundering and fraud monitoring capabilities. It would provide the bank with a consolidated view of customer risk and help detect increasingly sophisticated financial crime patterns through artificial intelligence and automation.
“Legacy systems are struggling to keep pace with the rapid evolution of financial crime. By consolidating anti-money laundering and fraud capabilities onto an AI-enabled enterprise cloud platform, we’re helping DNB Bank ASA move from fragmented controls to a unified, intelligence-led operating model,” Dennis Gada, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Banking & Financial Services, Infosys said in a statement.
The move comes as financial institutions globally face growing regulatory scrutiny and rising compliance costs, prompting investments in cloud-based and AI-enabled systems to improve detection accuracy and reduce manual investigation efforts.
“Protecting customers and the integrity of the financial system requires us to continuously raise the bar on detection and investigation,” said Elin Sandnes, COO and Group Executive Vice President Technology & Services, DNB.
The deal adds to Infosys' portfolio of large-scale banking transformation engagements, an area where major IT services companies are increasingly positioning AI-led modernisation projects as a growth driver amid a gradual recovery in discretionary technology spending by financial institutions.
