After ixigo partnered with OpenAI, MakeMyTrip will now also collaborate with ChatGPT maker to provide AI-enabled travel planning features.

This will allow users to enter conversational prompts for booking their travel plans in the app’s ‘Myra’ interface.

Myra is a generative AI trip-planning and booking assistant built into the MakeMyTrip platform.

“The collaboration strengthens MakeMyTrip’s ability to respond dynamically to evolving travel intent, delivering structured, transaction-ready options across flights, hotels and ancillary services,” said the company. “It marks a shift from passive search visibility to active participation in AI-led discovery, translating conversational intent into bookable outcomes.”

As MakeMyTrip is set to use OpenAI’s API, user inputs and prompts will now be routed via OpenAI’s large language models to perform the necessary actions.

“When AI is anchored in MakeMyTrip’s proprietary travel data and deeply integrated into the marketplace, it moves beyond inspiration to deliver personalised, bookable outcomes at scale. This is about transforming curiosity into confident decisions,” said Rajesh Magow, Co-founder of MakeMyTrip, in a statement.

Last year, MakeMyTrip announced its AI assistant, Myra, which supports users through every stage of their travel from discovery to booking, and even post-trip services

It currently facilitates over 50,000 conversations daily across multiple languages, including Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and English.

“Its vernacular voice capabilities are expanding access, with over 45% of queries coming from tier-2 and smaller cities and voice-led interactions significantly higher in non-metros,” added the company.
