Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has expanded its artificial intelligence partnership with Google Cloud by launching a Gemini Experience Center in Kolkata focused on consumer businesses, as India’s largest IT services company steps up investments in industry-specific AI adoption.
The Kolkata facility, TCS’ eighth such centre globally and third in India, is designed to showcase AI-led innovations tailored for consumer business needs and built with Google Cloud and Google’s Gemini models.
According to a statement, the centre will play a critical role in helping enterprises transform their business using TCS’ Human+AI Autonomy model, which will enable organisations to co-create solutions built with Gemini, addressing evolving needs across retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG), and travel, tourism and hospitality (TTH) sectors.
The launch comes as large IT services firms increasingly invest in dedicated AI innovation hubs with hyperscaler partners to move enterprise clients from AI pilots to production deployments.
TCS said it plans to expand the network to 10 Gemini Experience Centers globally by the end of 2026, including four in India.
TCS added that it has built more than 3,000 industry- and context-specific AI agents using Gemini Enterprise, covering industries including consumer goods, retail, travel, transportation and hospitality.
The Kolkata centre adds to TCS’ existing Gemini Experience Centers for retail in Chennai and banking and financial services in Bengaluru, as part of the company’s focus on vertical-specific AI solutions rather than generic deployments.
