Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is doubling down on hiring urgency for the first quarter of FY27, offering compensation starting at ₹9 lakh per annum and a ₹50,000 early joining bonus as it seeks lateral hires who can onboard quickly.
India’s largest IT services company said it is “looking at candidates joining us in Q1 FY27, with preference given to quick joiners,” aligned with its broader push to scale capabilities in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
“TCS is advancing towards becoming the world's largest AI-led technology services company—a transformation driven by people who learn fast, think boldly, and work with curiosity,” the company said in a communication.
As part of the initiative, TCS said the hiring programme will focus on assessing real skills and career readiness, alongside industry-expert-led upskilling supported by a broader learning ecosystem. Selected candidates will also work on high-impact projects across AI, data, cloud, and cybersecurity.
Once a candidate receives an offer, they may select a tentative date of joining, which “must be within 120 days (approximately 4 months) from the date of the offer.”
Eligibility criteria include “2–4 years of full-time IT work experience” and a “full-time Graduate or Postgraduate Degree recognised by AICTE or UGC,” obtained from a university campus and not via distance or part-time modes. Applicants must also demonstrate hands-on experience across technology stacks such as Java, C++, Python, .NET, AngularJS, ReactJS, Node.js, SQL, and Selenium.
The selection process comprises three stages: a “60-minute, virtual, remote-proctored, self-paced assessment,” followed by a “90-minute online assessment at a TCS iON Test Centre (in-person),” and a final in-person discussion at a TCS office or test centre.
“This is your roadmap to a career that values skills, rewards readiness, and places you at the heart of TCS' transformation story,” the company said.
Recently, Infosys raised entry-level salaries and offered compensation packages of up to ₹21 lakh per annum for fresh graduates hired into specialised technology roles, making it the highest starting pay currently offered in India’s IT services sector.
The Salil Parekh-led company said the higher pay reflects its push towards an AI-first operating model and the need for deep digital skills at the entry level.
