Pearson and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have announced a multi-year partnership to help enterprises build future-ready workforces through AI-powered learning and assessment solutions.
The collaboration will combine Pearson’s enterprise learning and assessment capabilities with TCS’ expertise in contextual AI and its TCS iON digital learning platform.
The tech giant said the partnership aims to help organisations continuously adapt their workforce by leveraging AI-driven insights to bridge skill gaps and drive measurable business outcomes.
Pearson's CEO, Omar Abbosh, stated that by combining their expertise with TCS’s consulting and global reach, organisations can close skills gaps, integrate learning into daily work, and enhance productivity through faster skill development and AI-driven solutions.
As part of the agreement, the two companies will collaborate across multiple areas, including integrating learning, assessment, and skills intelligence into enterprise operating models to help organisations adapt to AI-driven changes in job roles.
“By combining TCS’ strengths in contextual AI, cloud transformation, and large-scale enterprise delivery with Pearson’s leadership in learning and assessment, we will help organisations develop workforces for the future,” K Krithivasan, MD and CEO, TCS, said.
They will also co-develop AI-enabled learning products and services, using rapid prototyping and real-world validation to accelerate time-to-market and improve outcomes for both learners and enterprises.
In addition, TCS will incorporate Pearson’s Versant English proficiency assessment into its hiring and workforce development programs to strengthen communication skills among early-career professionals and employees.
The partnership will also see Pearson’s solutions integrated into the TCS iON platform, creating an end-to-end talent architecture for the AI-first economy. The companies said this will enable AI-validated skill benchmarking, certification, and the development of verified talent pipelines to help enterprises and governments manage workforce transformation more effectively.
The collaboration comes at a time when enterprises are prioritising large-scale upskilling initiatives to address widening skill gaps amid rapid AI adoption. Pearson cited research indicating that enabling workers to collaborate with AI, rather than replacing them, could add between $4.8 trillion and $6.6 trillion to the U.S. economy by 2034.
