AIM 100: India's Most Influential People Shaping AI in 2026
Tanay Kothari
Co-founder & CEO, Wispr

Over the past year, Tanay Kothari has emerged as one of the strongest proponents of voice AI as the next major computing interface.
Under his leadership, Wispr evolved from an AI dictation tool into a broader voice operating system, expanding Wispr Flow across iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS, while adding support for more than 100 languages. The company also acquired voice AI email startup Yapify to strengthen its voice AI capabilities, introduced enterprise privacy features with zero data retention, and raised fresh funding to accelerate its vision of building a "Voice OS" for the AI era.
Kothari has outlined a three-phase roadmap that begins with reliable voice input, evolves into voice-driven AI actions, and ultimately extends to AI-native wearables. His focus has been on reducing the cognitive friction between humans and computers, making conversation—not typing—the primary way people interact with software.
