After launching a chatbot with WhatsApp to share coronavirus related information, the Ministry of Health along with MyGov has launched a ‘corona Helpdesk’ chatbot on Facebook Messenger for providing updates and information about COVID-19.
The corona helpdesk chatbot has been designed to suggest the ‘dos and don’ts’ related to deadly coronavirus in order to prevent its further spread.
Abhishek Singh, CEO of MyGov, confirmed the news on Twitter.
In his tweet, he wrote, “MyGov launched its Corona Helpdesk chatbot on #Facebook #messenger to get update information and dos and don’ts to prevent the spread of #COVID19. On Facebook, you can check out their page: facebook.com/MyGovIndia/, and check out the chatbot on M.me/MyGovIndia.’’
Earlier this month, the government of India had launched the corona helpdesk chatbot as an awareness campaign collaboratively with WhatsApp. The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority of India (NPPA) also released a WhatsApp number +91-9013151515 for credible information and to verify any uncertain information on precautionary measures or treatment practices.
The WhatsApp bot was built by Mumbai-based firm Haptik Technologies, which local telecom giant Reliance Jio acquired last year, and the information is being provided by the nation’s Ministry of Health.

In a similar effort, earlier this week, the WHO also partnered with WhatsApp in order to create a helpline to provide people with accurate health information related to the coronavirus.
