Recently, Vivo India announced that the company will donate Rs 2 crore in order to address the oxygen shortage that has caused due to the devastating second wave. The initiative is taken to aid COVID-19 relief efforts and help acquire oxygen concentrators.
According to sources, Nipun Marya, Director, Brand Strategy, Vivo India said in a statement, “We are all in this together, and we must fight as a unit to defeat COVID-19. vivo is committed to providing support to the communities in these testing times.” “This small contribution will help save many lives. We must show tremendous resolve in responding to these unprecedented times,” Marya added.

A few days ago, the smartphone maker stated in a tweet, “We, at vivo are devastated and heartbroken by the current situation in the country. Unfortunately, cases are surging alarmingly, and we are witnessing so many of our countrymen fighting dire complications due to the pandemic. As part of our steadfast commitment to India and humanity, we have pledged to donate INR 2 crores to aid COVID-19 relief efforts and acquire oxygen concentrators. This is a small yet significant step to address multiple issues that we are facing at the moment. We must show tremendous resolve in responding to these unprecedented times. ”
During these difficult times, the smartphone manufacturing company has always stepped up to help and support the crisis of the country. Last year, the company contributed over 9 lakh surgical and N95 masks, 15,000 PPE suits and 50,000 litres of sanitizer to the state and central government agencies to protect the caregivers and healthcare professionals fighting at the forefront. The company also suspended all the new product launches starting from V19.
