HCLTech has signed a strategic agreement worth an estimated $1.14 billion with a Europe-headquartered Fortune Global 50 company to build an AI-led operating model for its global digital workplace and enterprise network operations, the IT services company said in a stock exchange filing on Friday.

The contract, with an initial term of about six years that begins in July 2026 and runs through December 2031, can be extended by another five years.

HCLTech, in a statement, said the engagement is entirely a net new business for the company.

As part of the deal, HCLTech will transform and manage the client's global digital workplace and enterprise networks using an AI-driven operating model.

The company, however, did not disclose the customer's identity, citing confidentiality.

The announcement marks one of the largest contract wins disclosed by the Noida- headquartered IT services firm and indicates the growing demand for AI-powered infrastructure and workplace transformation projects among large global enterprises.

The deal also adds to a string of AI-focused engagements announced by HCLTech in recent months.

Last month, HCLTech acquired a 10.5% stake in AI startup Sarvam AI for ₹1,427 crore ($150 million).

For Indian IT services companies as well, large deal wins have become an important driver of revenue visibility at a time when discretionary technology spending remains uneven.

Companies including HCLTech, Infosys, TCS, Wipro and Tech Mahindra have been signing large deals even as clients remain selective on new technology investments outside AI and cost optimisation initiatives.
