Ahmedabad-based IndieSemiC has partnered with Norway’s Nordic Semiconductor to design and commercialise wireless modules for connected devices. The companies said that the modules are already available and are seeing adoption across global markets.
The partnership combines Nordic’s low-power system-on-chip technology with IndieSemiC’s RF (radio frequency) design and product engineering. The companies aim to deliver certified, production-ready modules for applications such as smart homes, healthcare, and industrial IoT.
“These modules act as the backbone for wireless communication,” the company said in a statement, adding that the focus is on reliable and low-power connectivity.
IndieSemiC offers a range of RF modules, including Bluetooth Low Energy modules based on Nordic’s nRF52 and nRF54 series. It also provides multi-protocol modules supporting Bluetooth LE, Thread, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, and Matter. These modules support wireless communication across sectors such as wearables, smart metering, and automotive systems.
Nikul Shah, Founder and CEO of IndieSemiC, said the collaboration aims to expand global reach. “Through this partnership, we are strengthening our technology capabilities and expanding our presence in global markets,” he added.
IndieSemiC will handle the full module lifecycle, including RF design, hardware development, firmware support, testing, certification, and manufacturing. Nordic Semiconductor will provide the core chipset technology.
The companies said the collaboration supports India’s role in the global semiconductor value chain. It also aligns with efforts to build design-led innovation in the electronics ecosystem.
Bjørn Åge Brandal, VP of Sales and Marketing, Asia Pacific at Nordic Semiconductor, said IndieSemiC’s expertise helps speed up product development. “They are helping customers accelerate time to market while meeting global performance and regulatory requirements,” he said.
