Emerson (previously National Instruments) and L&T Technology Services (LTTS) have announced a partnership to develop engineering and test solutions for sectors including industrial, transportation, semiconductors, aerospace and defence.
The companies said LTTS will act as a global system integrator and technology development partner for Emerson’s NI test platform.
The partnership will also see LTTS establish a centre of excellence (CoE) at its Mysuru campus in India. The facility will use Emerson’s NI software and hardware platforms to support product development, engineering, test automation and validation workflows.
Ritu Favre, President for Emerson’s Test and Measurement business, said engineering environments were becoming “increasingly software defined, data centric and interconnected.” She added that the collaboration would help customers “move from engineering uncertainty to operational confidence.”
Under the agreement, LTTS will support the design, deployment and lifecycle management of systems engineering platforms across industries. The companies said the collaboration will include joint customer engagements and the development of industry-specific solutions.
The CoE in Mysuru will serve as a global hub for joint solution development and industrialisation efforts. LTTS and Emerson said the facility will also focus on license enablement and client support models.
Alind Saxena, Executive Director and President of Strategic Initiatives and Growth Markets at LTTS, said the partnership would strengthen the company’s ability to build and deploy engineering systems at scale.
LTTS, a subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, provides engineering research and development services across sectors, including transportation, telecom and medical devices, while Emerson is an automation company headquartered in Missouri.
