Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has partnered with DevOps platform GitLab to bring intelligent orchestration and agentic AI automation to enterprises. The companies aim to accelerate innovation velocity across the DevSecOps (development, security, and operations) lifecycle.

The collaboration combines TCS’ AI-led enterprise transformation expertise with GitLab’s pre-built AI agents and orchestration capabilities for software development.

The companies said the partnership will help enterprises accelerate software delivery, enhance security, and orchestrate AI agents across the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) within organisational standards and guardrails.

Alex Picker, VP of Global Ecosystems, GitLab, said in a statement, “TCS brings extensive industry experience and global scale that enterprises need to maximise the value of GitLab Duo Agent Platform at scale.”

The GitLab Duo Agent Platform enables organisations to orchestrate agentic AI automation across the software lifecycle.

“Together, we're enabling joint customers to transform how they build and deliver software, orchestrating AI agents across the entire software development lifecycle with the governance, security, and support that enterprises require,” he said.

Ashok Krish, Head - AI Practice, TCS, added, “Our strategic partnership with GitLab is aimed at making AI real for enterprises. It enables us to bring AI-native DevSecOps capabilities to our clients. This is particularly crucial as enterprises navigate the imperative of AI-led rapid software development while maintaining reliability, security and compliance.”

The GitLab Duo Agent Platform’s capabilities include agentic chat, foundational agents prebuilt by GitLab experts, custom agents for complex development tasks, integration with external AI tools such as Claude Code from Anthropic and Codex CLI from OpenAI, and governance and security controls.

TCS will develop industry-specific AI workflow templates and pre-built agents to address common use cases, helping clients accelerate time-to-value. The partnership will also focus on modernising legacy software development practices, consolidating fragmented tool chains onto GitLab’s unified platform, and enabling seamless workflows from planning to production.

The companies said the collaboration will support large-scale migrations and DevSecOps transformations for global enterprises across telecommunications, media, financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, and public sectors.

TCS will provide transformation services spanning initial assessments, migration roadmaps, custom agent development, industry-specific accelerators, managed platform services, and ongoing enablement through its Centres of Excellence.
